For people who have a bachelor's degree in Geology and would like become a science teacher in the area of earth science, NAU offers a post-degree teacher certification. To obtain the teacher certification, students must take courses in our B.S. Ed. in Earth Science curriculum that have not already been taken in previous course work. Teacher-preparation course requirements must also be fulfilled in order to gain a recommendation for certification. Admission to the Teacher Preparation program is through separate application to the College of Education, which may be filed after being admitted to the University. Note that liberal studies course requirements are waived for students who already have bachelor's degrees from NAU or other accredited institutions.
