My name is Ty Schreiner and I am responsible for recruiting for Federal Way, Washington office of Kennedy/Jenks Consultants (http://www.kennedyjenks.com). Our company performs a wide range of engineering and scientific services for municipal and industrial clients throughout western US.  We are currently recruiting for entry-level civil engineers and geologist/hydrogeologist for our Federal Way, Washington office.  Kennedy/Jenks Consultants is a medium-sized, privately held environmental consulting firm which has been in business since 1919 (87 years). As a graduate of NAU's geology/hydrogeology program, I am interested in speaking with any civil/geology graduates that may be interested in relocating to the Pacific Northwest. [the website has a link to "Careers"]; or contact Ty Schreiner

Geotechnical
Speedie and Associates is a Phoenix-based geotechnical firm with offices in the Valley, Tucson, Flag, and Show Low.  They are hiring at the entry level immediately; please contact Shaun Kulish (NAU 2003 grad) or visit their web site: http://www.speedie.net

Geologist
Rice Lake Gold Corporation, Canada:
Rice Lake Mine is a vein-hosted Archean lode-gold deposit.  Mineralization occurs in two different types of veins: stockwork breccias, or "38's", and shear veins, or "16's".  All of the mineralized veins occur within a gabbro.  Previously published work suggests the two main vein types are temporally distinct, by my own observations and those of Manitoba Survey geos suggest that the veins occur as a linked kinematic system.  Both vein types are characterized by extensive networks of "ladder" veins or tension gashes on the vein margins, and both can be associated with extensive silicification of the host gabbro.  Gold occurs both within fine grained pyrite and as free gold in bull quartz.  38 veins are usually nearly vertical, with moderate grades (0.2 opt gold) and thus are amenable to bulk mining methods like longhole drilling.  16s are narrow, usually less than 3 feet, moderately to shallowly dipping, and very high grade (in 2998, the vein commonly runs over 2 opt, and up to 8 opt).  These are mined by very old-fashioned shrink stopes (3098W-1 Stope).
