The Mechanical Engineering Department offers both undergraduate (B.S.E.) and masters (M.Eng., M.S.) degrees in a personalized, student-centered environment. Our curricula emphasize the practice of engineering. Undergraduate students learn the fundamentals and apply that knowledge in design projects and other hands-on activities, throughout the four year undergraduate program. Our masters of engineering (M.Eng.) program, offered in collaboration with ASU and UA, is designed to serve residential and place-bound students with programs of study that balance theory with applications that reflect current engineering practice.

The Mechanical Engineering Department is a part of the College of Engineering and Natural Science. The department has approximately 250 students so that each student feels like an important member of the college. Yet, students benefit from being part of a large, residentially focused campus in the mountains of northern Arizona. Our students become involved in many activities including participating in faculty research projects, student design competitions, industry internships, international exchange programs, and more.
