Degree Programs
Overview:
Northern Arizona University offers several degrees in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics. These programs are listed below, with a more detailed description of each linked to each program name. In addition to those listed below, NAU also offers an extended major in environmental sciences, with an emphasis in applied mathematics. Admission Requirements:
To be admitted to a major or minor in mathematics, you must have completed MAT 136 with a grade of C or better and be assigned to a major or minor advisor by the department.
Placement Requirements:
Admission to entry-level mathematics courses is determined by your mathematical background or your ACT or SAT scores in mathematics. You may request an exception, with the understanding that a fee may be charged for any placement exam you take as a result of your request for an exception to this departmental policy. Grade Policy:
No grade below a C in a mathematics or statistics course will count toward the requirements for any major or minor program in mathematics or statistics.
