ES-DAY
ES-Day (Engineering and Science Day) is one the faculty of Natural
Sciences and Engineering's efforts at getting students from Middle
school and High school interested in College; the big idea here is
to "catch them young". ES-Day is coordinated by ACENS
which is a completely student run organization. In October we host
a half-day event specially designed for middle school students to
explore engineering though a round-robin on fun hands-on activities
and competitions. In February, we host a longer day of design
competitions and demonstrations from faculty and students for high
school students.

COMPETITION RULES
On Site Competitons
All students will compete in the on-site competitions. All materials
and rules will be supplied on the day of competition. Here is a list
of possible competitions Ð depending on logistics and participation;
there will be 3 or 4 different on-site competitions.
- Lego Hotel
- Straw Bridges
- Land Sail
- Egg Drop
- Paper Tower
Off Site Competitons
This year we have decided to change our focus away from the off-site
competitions and towards the on-site competitions. This decision was
made in hopes of attracting more students and schools. We will have
only one off-site competition, which all students are encouraged to
participate in. This project needs to be built prior to the actual day
of competition. Objective, regulations, and competition rules can be
