Make a Gift
In 2004, the College of Engineering, Forestry and Natural Sciences
embarked on a period of unprecedented growth. Through a combination of public and private
funding, the college has three major building projects underway. External research funding is at an all-time high, and enrollment in our science
and engineering programs continues to grow.
However, the fundamental nature of public higher education has changed. In recent years, funding from the state and federal governments has declined
significantly. Arizona dollars, for example, currently account for just 33% of the college’s annual income. At the same time, to permit access
for all qualified students, the university has worked diligently to limit tuition increases.
In today’s environment, the importance of private gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations is critical to the success of our students
and faculty. With current funds already dedicated to sustain ongoing work, any qualitative increases in the quality and quantity of our programs must
come from the private sector.
We look forward to partnering with our many friends and alumni to advance and ensure the quality of a
Northern Arizona University degree in engineering or the sciences. We appreciate your enthusiasm and generosity in advancing that mission.
