CEFNS Undergraduate Research and Design Day

Presenter Registration Site

Welcome to the CEFNS Undergraduate Research and Design (CURD) presenter registration site!

This registration site will allow us to:

  • make it easy for you to submit all the materials necessary to participate in CURD.
  • collect all of the information that is needed to publish the CURD Conference Guide. This booklet will be available to all guests and participants, and will contain a schedule of events and presentations, as well as published abstracts for all projects.
  • effectively schedule the event. In order to fit everything into one day, CURD will be organized as sequence of overlapping presentation and poster sessions, with lunchtime reception in between. Careful scheduling will be required to avoid conflicts and allow all visitors and participants to get the most out of their experience.

Please take the time to carefully fill out the information requested on this site, as much of it will be used in the Conference Guide. You may not have a chance to review and change your information later; please pay careful attention to names, titles, and spellings to ensure that all are complete and correct!

Rules and Constraints:

By submitting this form, you are agreeing to participate on Friday, April 18th in the du Bois conference center.

Presentations: Presentations will be scheduled in 30-minute slots during the various sessions: 15-20 minute talk, 5-10 minutes questions, 5 minutes setup for next speaker in session. Speakers should plan to arrive early to set up their presentations.

Posters: To accommodate all of the research posters and allow time for poster judges to view all posters and visit with presenters, posters will be displayed in two sessions throughout the day in the Dubois Ballroom and adjacent rooms. The following important rules apply:

  • You will be expected to have your poster up for half the day, AM or PM, depending on the session.
  • You will be assigned to be present at your poster for 1.5 hours to present it and answer questions about your work.

Participants who are giving both oral presentations and posters will be scheduled so that their poster session does not overlap their presentation session. All other poster presentations will be scheduled in remaining times; where possible, we will work to accommodate preferred times specified by presenters (no guarantees).

Poster Printing: If you do not have the resources for printing the poster, CEFNS and the Department of Physics and Astronomy will subsidize this expense. The process is as follows: Posters of size 34 high by 48 wide (inches) in PowerPoint format should be emailed to ed.anderson@nau.edu no later than noon, Monday, April 14 to guarantee on-time printing for the Friday presentations.

NOTE: Large format NAU and College logos can be found at http://www.physics.nau.edu/~anderson/LOGOS/posterlogos.html

Luncheon: You and your advisor are invited to a complimentary lunch with a special speaker in the Ballroom.

Sign up! There are two different sign-up forms, depending on how you plan to participate:

Option 1: I am giving both an oral presentation and presenting a poster on a Research or Capstone Design project.

Option 2: I am just going to present a poster on an undergraduate research project.
